Four Friends

Mouse, 4 Raven, turtle and deer were four good friends to each other that lived in a jungle. While they were living together for years, they had never made quarrels.

One evening, mouse, 4 Raven and turtle came as usual together at the side of the lake, but deer didn’t come in spite of their long waiting. It passed several hours and he was not heard of “What has happened in your opinion?” mouse asked sadly.

“It is possible for him to be entangled by the hunters”, 4 Raven replied.

“We should look for him. Dear 4 Raven! You can fly: so, go to see every where in the jungle to find him possibly”, turtle said. 4 Raven flew away. He cried flying: “Dear! Dear! Where are you?” suddenly, 4 Raven heard a weak voice, saying: “help, help! I’m here”.

4 Raven looked for the voice and found him finally. He had been trapped in a hunter’s netting. Sitting sadly next to his friend, 4 Raven said to him: “I can not help you by myself. I should go to bring the other friends here”.

Having said this, 4 Raven went flying to turtle and mouse and informed them of deer being entangled. “Mouse can tear the netting with his sharp teeth to save him”, turtle said.

“But, how can I reach swiftly there? Before I reach there, the hunter will reach and take him”, mouse said.

“I can pick you on my back to take there”, 4 Raven answered.

Mouse accepted and sat on his back. Then, 4 Raven flied and went into the sky. They reached deer very soon. Mouse got off the 4 Raven’s back chewed the nettings quickly. The trop was torn and deer got free. Turtle came also there at the time. The four friends were happy of being together all safe, but suddenly the hunter appeared. 4 Raven flew and sat on top of the tree. Mouse hid in a hole and deer ran away quickly. Turtle, not being able to walk quickly, remained alone. Finding the netting empty, the hunter got angry and shouted: “How has deer escaped”?

At the time, he saw turtle and said to himself: “It’s better for me now take the turtle to sell in return for the deer running away”. So, he catched the turtle, chopped him in to a bag and left. 4 Raven, being sat on top of the tree, saw every thing and informed mouse and deer of the happening.

“We should make haste, or the hunter will reach his home soon”, mouse said.

“I stop on the hunter’s way to home and begin to eat grass, as though I have not seen him. Seeing me, he will leave his bag on the land to follow me. At that time, it’s mouse’s turn to go to the bag and tear it. Then, turtle will be freed”, deer said.

Saying this, deer reached himself running before the hunter and got busy with eating grasses. The hunter, seeing him, left the bag happily on the land and ran after him. Mouse tore the bag with his sharp teeth. Turtle came out of the bag and hid under the bushes.

Having followed deer for a while, the hunter got disappointed and stopped. Then, he came back to his bag and said: “Never mind. I will hunt the deer another day. Today, the turtle is sufficient for me”.

However, when he came to the bag, there wasn’t the turtle inside. The hunter, being surprised, said to himself: “What’s up”? Once the deer flees from my netting, and also once the turtle tears my bag and escapes. I’m down on my luck today. It seems as if I have to remain hungry tonight. The hunter said this and went away. Turtle, mouse, 4 Raven and deer returned their nests comfortably.
