What is the cheapest way to effectively market a web services biz?
I am a web and graphics designer who is trying to get my business off the ground. So far, all of my business has been from referrals. I specialize in web services for people with small budgets. What’s the most cost effective way to get new clients who I don’t know? The free networking sites all stink because everyone there is either broke or a jack-of-all-trades.
Anyone who’s been where I am before – how did you get ahead before you had a big advertising budget?

I am debating between a netbook and notebook..?
My dv9000 stopped booting up and it’s done lol. Now I’m hitting the market and things have changed quite a bit so I need some advice.
I mainly need somebook that is lightweight, EXCELLENT BATTERY LIFE is a MUST, but still has enough tools to be able to complete simple tasks.
I will mainly be using this for notes for school and various internet hobbies (no games or anything like that. pretty much just email and watching videos and whatnot).
Netbooks seem like they have the ability to be the perfect tool for me, but I really don’t think it could be as good as it seems. Any help on that would be great.
Also, if someone could let me know about some notebooks that could accomplish everything I’m trying to do as well that would be great.
Mind you… I am a student who is living on a students budget. I am not cheap by any means, but I am not willing to shell out 2k for a computer (at least not at this point in time!)

Best ways to advertise/market/make visible a web site?
for free or second alternative, low cost. I am building a site for services offered and am at the stage where I need to set it out for the world to see and react. What steps do I need to take to proceed? Don’t have the budget to spend thousands to make it visible, but hundreds is possible, but less is even better. Do I need to spend a lot to make it a lot visible?
Can you tell me if this business letter sounds "official"? Would you be interested?
